A Little About National Dental Academy

Convenient Class Schedules

You have a life. We understand that you likely won't be able to quit your job or take precious time away from your family responsibilities during the week to attend school full-time. Most dental assisting programs offered by vocational schools require that you attend classes during the week. The National Dental Academy dental assisting course is just 10 Saturdays, so you can keep your job and continue with your life while you work towards becoming a dental assistant.

Practical, Hands-On Training

What's a typical Saturday of NDA class like? Morning lectures are followed by afternoons of practical, hands-on dental assisting training. You'll learn how to work with all the instruments, equipment, and materials commonly used by dental assistants in most practices. National Dental Academy program graduates also benefit from a strong knowledge base that is strengthened by home study each week.

National Dental Academy campuses are unique compared to most traditional dental assisting programs because they are located in real-life dental offices. We encourage our students to arrange on-the-job training with another dentist in their community, as well.

Obtaining your education in the same environment you'll be working in after graduation means that you'll be even more prepared and confident in your new profession as a dental assistant.

Who Is Behind National Dental Academy

Meet Dr. Timothy J. Quirt

Dr. Timothy J. Quirt is the owner and administrator of National Dental Academy. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Tim earned his DDS degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, graduating with honors after consistently making the dean's list for outstanding academic performance. While at Marquette as a student, Tim was asked to lecture and become the course coordinator for an undergraduate class. He discovered a passion for not only practicing dentistry, but also for teaching it. In addition to teaching at Marquette where he has received a College of Health Sciences Leadership Award, Tim mentors young dentists who are just starting their careers.

Part of Tim's love for teaching led him to establish National Dental Academy. There are many opportunities available for well-trained individuals in the dental field, with the employment rate of dental assistants in the US projected to grow 31% by 2020. That's 17% higher than the projected growth rate for all occupations, so much faster than average! Tim's goal for NDA is to train chairside dental assistants to qualify for and pursue the many dental assisting positions available around the country.
